Incentive trip at Long Beach for “Graines et Stars”

10 novembre 2012

For the eleventh edition of this ‘incentive’ operation in Mauritius, the Long Beach team pulled out all the stops for the travel agents who came to visit the Sun Resorts hotels. A trip they are sure to remember !

The “Graines et Stars” concept

The “Graines et Stars” (Grains and Stars) concept allows young travel agents to discover Mauritius in general and the Sun Resorts hotels in particular in a fun and educational way. Over a series of presentations, workshops organised by Solea and more experienced travel agents, the novices develop new sales techniques and improve their knowledge of Mauritius so as to better sell this dream destination, its culture, its paradise landscapes and the legendary Mauritian kindness. Long Beach organised an exciting programme for the occasion…

A lavish welcome, fit for a Maharaja

The welcome organised by the Long Beach team for the participants in this event’s eleventh edition enraptured everyone… The “Graines et Stars”, as we call them, were welcomed with flowers, just like the Maharajas, before tasting the popular Mauritian cocktail the Long Beach Mojito on the lawn overlooking the sea. The guests were then led to the Balao Room for their first workshop.

“Osons” evening…

“Osons”, or “Dare” was the theme of this fin evening event. The night began with an aperitif at the Sea Spa pavilion where a space had been set up for souvenir photographs for each of the guests. A mini competition for the ‘best hair-do decorated with fresh flowers’ which proved a success with the ladies who were keen to win the prize for the best exotic hairstyle was also organised.
Chopsticks restaurant was the venue for the next part of the evening. The chef treated guests to a dexterous demonstration of Lamian noodle making and a tasting session, along with a Chinese Dragon dance. The travel agents were bowled over by the Chef’s expertise and by the splendour of this 5 star hotel in Mauritius.

Bedouin tents and lounge ambiance

A change of pace for our young travel agents ! Bedouin tents and hookah pipes were installed on the beach for this Moroccan themed evening at Long Beach.
Here, guests sipped homemade lemonade before enjoying a barbecue on the beach near Tides restaurant, in a relaxed atmosphere infused by the East. The Sagapataal Group provided the music while fire-eaters provided a spectacular show. The Long Beach team demonstrated its creativity in the decoration of the panoply of desserts specially laid out in the Balao and Bombora rooms. Dessert lovers were impressed with the amazing variety of sweets made by Sandy Scioli, the resident Pastry Chef, and her brigade.
This magical evening was played out on the Decks by DJ Alberto, from Dubai. Our guests danced the night away to the entrancing rhythms.

Relaxed Sunday

After the crazy ‘night before’, the guests met at Chopsticks for breakfast which was followed by an excursion to Flacq, a little Mauritian town, to discover Mauritian culture and local folklore… They then enjoyed a barbecue buffet lunch organised for them at the main restaurant, with a special treat : candy floss for dessert ! Their stay drawing to a close, the Long Beach team wanted to offer them an unusual treat : the travel agents and the Solea cohort attended an art exhibition, had head and neck massages, beach things and other souvenirs of their incentive trip in Mauritius at Long Beach.

An emotional farewell followed, with a round of applause. The “Graines et Stars” left the five star Maurtian hotel with great memories ! It has to be said that Long Beach is the perfect place for fabulous incentive trips !

We can’t wait for next time !
