It’s not a coincidence that Long Beach, a Mauritian hotel that regularly welcomes golfers, has also organised its very own Golf Trophy… Mauritian born and bred, the competition organizer and hotel General Manager is a member of the Mauritian Golf Federation, after being Captain of the island’s Golf Team. With an index nearing zero, Nicolas de Chalain is a regular on the green and in competition !
Although you can play golf all year round in Mauritius, the golfing season arrives with the particularly clement weather of the dry inter-season. From the month of November, Mauritius is positively invaded by golfers, some of who stay at the hotel Long Beach Mauritius. The Long Beach Trophy will take place between the 11th and 18th November on two of Mauritius’ superb Golf Courses : Ile aux Cerfs and Legends. Over the course of a week, the players will battle it out on the greens, basked in Mauritius’ tropical climate. November offers prefect conditions for golf in Mauritius !

With a first doubles competition and a second individual competition, the Long Beach Trophy offers variety to the golfers who come to play in Mauritius.
The first round of the double competition begins on the 13th November at Le Touessrok Golf Course with the first team teeing off at 9am. The participants will enjoy a day of practice at Le Touessrok Golf Course from 9am on the 12th November. The first day of play will be in doubles with handicap, 4 Balls, Better Ball. The second round of the doubles competition will be Scramble with handicap, this time at Legends Golf Course with first tee off at 12.30. The prize giving ceremony for the first part of the Long Beach Mauritius golf competition will take place the same evening, at 7.30pm with a cocktail party and gala dinner.
After a rest day between the two competitions of the Long Beach Trophy, the golfers will begin a new challenge on the Links Golf Course. The first round of the second competition will begin on Friday 16th November with the first player teeing off at 12.30. The first round will be played in Stapleford Individual with full handicap allowance. The second round, also played in Stapleford Individual with full handicap will be played the following day at the Touessrok Golf Course on the Ile aux Cerfs. First tee off will be at 9am in order to finish the day’s play in time for the cocktail party, gala dinner and prize giving ceremony, the prizes will be presented by the Long Beach hotel and Touessrok Golf Course General Managers.
The 18th November will mark the end of the Mauritian golf trip with a free day before the competitors take their leave. The departing players will have plenty of chances to return to Mauritius and play golf or just prefect their swing on Mauritius’ golf courses. The island offers many golfing opportunities for amateur and professional players alike.
