The 4th edition of the Standard Bank Mauritius Open promises to be a grand event on sunny île aux Cerfs…
The magnificent Mauritian golf course on the île aux Cerfs, belonging to the Touessrok hotel is where the 2012 Standard Bank Mauritius Open will be played out. The competition will bring together more than 100 participants, around 30 of them professional golfers, most of them from the European circuit. Some excellent professional golfing is on the cards for the main competition, the Standard Bank Mauritius Open whereas Amateurs will be able to play with the Pros for the Long Beach & Air Mauritius Pro Am.

Long Beach the main organizer of this high-calibre golf event, with Standard Bank Mauritius, is gearing up to welcome an impressive bunch of Pro players. Although Touessrok Golf Course is hosting the competition, it’s at 5 star hotel Long Beach Mauritius that the international players will be staying. This tournament is recognised by the Mauritian Golf Federation and is supported by TaylorMade equipment, a partner of Touessrok Golf Course. At the end of the event, to close this fantastic tournament, the players are invited to a Gala evening at Long Beach where they will be welcomed by Nicolas de Chalain, the hotel’s General Manager and former captain of Mauritius’ national golf team.
The official press conference promoting the event to the local media was held at the Standard Bank Mauritius Head Office in Ebene on Thursday 22 November. The organizers and official sponsors concentrated on the professionalism of the golf community in Mauritius. They are certainly keen to promote Mauritius’ incredible golfing potential. The island is the best golf destination in the Indian Ocean.
