Long Beach hotel officially thanked its most loyal employees by organising a grand prize-giving meal for them on the 7 November. For this special occasion, the Bombora function room was scattered with candles, big blue bows decorated the chairs and the crisp white linen dressed the tables : a simple and dramatic theme that welcomed the prize-winners to this very special evening.
Over the course of a generous and delicious meal, the guests listened to several speeches given by figures of Mauritius’ tourism industry namely Mrs Ghislaine Henry, President of the TEWF (Tourism Employees Welfare Fund), Nicolas de Chalain, the General Manager of the hotel, and Fabio Piccirillo, the CEO of prestigious Sun Resorts Group. The festivities continued after the prize-giving ceremony which rewarded the most loyal of the Sun Resorts and, more recently, hotel Long Beach team members.
In honour of this very special occasion, the Long Beach chefs surpassed themselves. One of them, Sandy Scioli, the Long Beach Pastry Chef made use of her incredible talent to wow guests.
In his speech, Fabio Peccadillo made a point of thanking long-term employees for their devotion and service to Sun Resorts over the years and more recently to the most recent of Mauritius’ 5 star hotels, Long Beach. Special guest Mrs Ghislaine Henry spoke more generally about the tourism industry, a key player in the Mauritian economy. She also mentioned the financial crisis and put hotel personnel in the spotlight, she said that thanks to them that Sun Resorts was such a success. With a thunderous round of applause, the employees who have accumulated more than 20 or 30 years’ sercice were congratulated for their loyalty and their excellent work. After the speeches, certificates and prizes were given to employees by Mrs Ghislaine Henry accompanied by Nicolas de Chalain and Fabio Piccirillo.
