Dream Indian wedding at Long Beach

24 mars 2015

Filled with lights and flowers of different colours throughout the resort, switching from the traditionally Indian music to the contemporary one without forgetting the typical Indian cuisine, luxury 5-star hotel Long Beach in Mauritius has experienced another memorable and successful event for Kavya and Rahul’s exclusive wedding from 9 to 11 March 2015.

Long Beach Mauritius, your dream wedding destination

Coming all the way from India, those three days were devoted fully to their beautiful customs and rituals and the dashing shows and dance that were part of the 3 days’ program at Long Beach 5 star luxury Mauritian hotel.

On the first day, as per the Indian tradition, the bride-to-be took part in the Mehndi ceremony, which is about beauty and elegance. It symbolizes the outer and inner sun. It took place in their room itself on the eve of the wedding and during the ceremony ; turmeric paste was applied on the bride’s face, feet and hands. It was followed by a “Puja” (religious ceremony) whereby the elderly relatives were present to give their blessings to the future bride. Afterwards, a Mehndi designer applied an amazing well-designed bridal Mehndi on the bride’s hand and feet. The ceremony was followed by various live shows performed by professional DJs, musicians, dancers and relatives from both families.

The second day was the most important day as it is the first time since the beginning of the ceremony that the bride will be able to meet the boy to tie the knot. The wedding was scheduled early in the evening, therefore during the whole day ; all the relatives and friends were busy getting ready to be on time. Before the start of the wedding, all the invitees from the groom’s side gathered at one place at the hotel where they all accompanied the groom on his white horse till the “ mandap ” (sacred place where the bride will go around the fire with the groom and the latter will tie her “ mangalsutra ” around her neck and put her “ sindoor ” on her forehead).

After the ceremony, a variety of spicy and less spicy food from the aperitif till the dessert were served on a buffet style without forgetting their ongoing boiling tea prepared by the “ Chaiwala ” (tea-maker) who by the way took a flight only to come and prepare tea during those three days celebration. The night closed with a small casino being set up for those who were keen for some gambling, whereas most youngsters were more apt to join in together to celebrate it in their own way with music.

Wedding reception on the beach

The third and last day ended by a lavish wedding reception on the beach. All guests both from the groom and bride’s side met on the beach and since it started at 11hrs it went on non-stop till late in the afternoon. Though the bad weather, the DJ was ever present to make it unforgettable with his own music compilation.

Blue sky above and beneath, a gorgeously embellished décor and a picturesque view, what else do you need to make your dream wedding an unforgettable lifetime experience with your loved ones at Long Beach 5 star luxury resort and spa… ?
